Mark followed his dream of being a Marine and at the age of nineteen, he became part of the best fighting force in the world. In Iraq, he fought for his homeland, the USA. He would never have thought that this dream would one day destroy him.
It was impossible to continue civilian life where I left off; I had reoccurring nightmares, suffered from panic attacks, and was profoundly traumatised. It felt as if my thoughts, emotions, simply everything, had collided and exploded like a bomb. Fear followed me everywhere. Many of my colleagues had committed suicide, and I often thought of doing that too. We had risked our lives for our country, but no one cheered
for us when we returned – the state didn,t even take care of
